"EO" had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, where it stunned audiences with its stripped-down story of following a donkey through modern-day Poland, winning the Jury Prize. With its awe-inspiring cinematography, thoughtful editing, and immersive soundscape, you'd think this was a young man's movie, but the film is, in fact, made by 84-year-old world-renowned Polish filmmaker Jerzy Skolimowski. Jerzy was kind enough to spend a few minutes chatting with me about his latest film, where the idea for the story came from, his dissatisfaction with traditional narrative, the film's themes and importance for environmentalism, and more. Please take a listen below and check out the film if it's playing in your area from Janus Films. Enjoy!
