The two Republican candidates for mayor traded insults and personal jabs during a NY1 primary debate, where they also touched on some of their policy proposals and tried to share their vision for the city. Political reporters Zack Fink, Courtney Gross and Juan Manuel Benítez analyze some of the highlights of the televised event, which was co-hosted by WNYC and the news organization THE CITY.

They also comment on the latest developments in the Democratic race for mayor, including the internal turmoil rocking the Dianne Morales campaign and the ambiguous results of the most recent polls.

And if you want to learn more about what is going on inside the Morales campaign, check out her interview with anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall.” The recent upheaval includes resignations, firings, a unionization effort and accusations of misconduct, with just a few days to go before the start of early voting.
