This week we meet the woman who was closest to the man who launched the Beatles’ global fame in the USA.Merle Frimark was a close friend and colleague of Sid Bernstein, who booked Fab Four for their legendary show at Shea Stadium in New York in 1965, which was the first concert to be staged in a stadium.Bernstein, who died in 2013 aged 95, promoted the Fab Four's gigs at Carnegie Hall in New York on their first US tour in 1964.
