This week on Inside the Arts, acclaimed international opera star Marisol Montalvo kicks off the Broadway @ NOCCA concert series with the New Orleans premiere of Mad Scene. The cabaret show is an autobiographical tale of the challenges faced by an American opera singer performing on world stages. It is written and directed by Jeffery Roberson, aka Varla Jean Merman. Both will join us for an in-studio chat. Then, conversation with New Orleans artist George Dunbar. His new exhibit entitled Alluvion opens this weekend at Callan Contemporary. WWNO's Eileen Fleming visited with the artist at his Slidell home. And, the New Orleans Accordion Festival makes its debut in venues around town with a variety of diverse musical styles. Festival organizers and musicians Stephanie Reed and David Symons will join us. Airs Tuesdays at 1:00 p.m., Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m., and Thursdays at 8:35 a.m.
