Today DC Comics and WB Games released Injustice: Gods Among Us for iOS. I just happened to see it in the App Store this afternoon for free and decided to pick it up. Just a few minutes after playing it I knew I had to review this for you all in a special podcast episode. Here's what MTV Geek had to say about it: Developed by the same team responsible for "Batman: Arkham City Lockdown," Injustice for iOS functions as a standalone game, but features crossover elements to enhance the console version as well. For instance, if you sign up for a WBID account (something you'll also want for "Infinite Crisis") you'll be able unlock cross-platform rewards including skins and other perks. Unlike its console counterpart, Injustice on iOS features 3-on-3 tag team matches and NetherRealm has thankfully passed on the virtual joysticks. Instead, players will duke it out using swipe and tap gestures, such as holding two fingers on the screen to block. If micro-transaction were the first thing to pop into your head when you saw "free-to-play" you though right. Fortunately, NetherRealm insists that everything can be unlocked by simply playing the game and spending money will only speed things up. The official Injustice site gave this description for the game. Makes me want to buy a PS3 now...: What if our greatest heroes became our greatest threat? Injustice: Gods Among Us introduces a bold new franchise to the fighting game genre from NetherRealm Studios, creators of the definitive fighting game Mortal Kombat. Featuring DC Comics icons such Batman, Cyborg, The Flash, Harley Quinn, Nightwing, Solomon Grundy, Superman and Wonder Woman, the latest title from the award-winning studio presents a deep original story. Heroes and villains will engage in epic battles on a massive scale in a world where the line between good and evil has been blurred. Find out more at Injustice.com and pick up the iOS version for free on iPad or iPhone.
