More than 70 per cent of people who take part in early-stage clinical trials are white men, meaning other groups have been understudied and therefore are at a medical disadvantage.

Now, a new national research and policy centre is turning that model on its head, and attempting to improve healthcare outcomes for women, intersex, trans and gender-diverse people in the process.
