I married the man of my dreams when I was just 20 years old. He was an immigrant from Africa, it took us 4 yrs. of long-distance relationship & tough & complicated immigration battle. We encountered racism, corruption, & the obvious difficulties of a long-distance relationship. Once we finally got him approved, he moved to Canada; we thought, yay...Happily ever after right? Wrong!

A few months later there was a cancer diagnosis, followed by a whole slew of other ailments like addiction, mental illness & family issues to name a few. Then within a blink of an eye, he was gone.

Attempting to pick up my life after all of that, sharing my story came as a way to heal & help process all that happened before my 23rd birthday. Once I started writing I quickly realized that the series Chin Up Tits Out was a way to strip down different life scenarios, & really talk about the feelings that rush through us in tough times. The little mantra became a daily tool to maintain balance when I needed it. If I stand confidently, I, therefore, will feel more confident; with time and dedication to that action.

As book 3 was being created, my 30th birthday threw me another doozy and slapped me with an Endometriosis & Adenomyosis diagnosis. So naturally, I'm using that as juice for my second series.

We know life is going to get messy, & that we will be faced with tough challenges along the way. I made a choice when I started to share my story that I wanted to relate, connect and inspire people. We all go through tough stuff, it's all how we receive it, juggle it & move forward through it.
