Can you imagine a world where finances are no longer an obstacle for anyone wanting to adopt in the U.S.? This is the mission of BothHands.org, a non-profit organization that helps fund your adoption AND helps serve a widow. This could be the most irresistible non-profit organization in the world, right? “Almost ten years ago, I served on the board for Bethany Christian Services in Nashville and was responsible for an annual golf fundraiser where we sent letters asking for sponsorship while we golfed. A few days before the event, my friend sent my sponsorship letter back to me and scribbled on it, “JT, if you were working on a widow’s house I might sponsor you, but you’re just golfing. Nice cause, but not my money.”JT Olson – Founder of BothHands.org This simple note on a letter sparked the idea to start BothHands.org. On this episode, JT Olson joins us to share his incredible story. After being orphaned as a child along with his 4 siblings, his personal tragedy gave him an overwhelming understanding of the need to find loving homes for the world’s orphaned and vulnerable children. JT captured his complete story – of being an orphan – to a successful sales career – to adopting a little girl from China – all the way to starting BothHands.org in his book “The Orphan, the Widow & Me : Paying It Forward with Both Hands”. This book was so engaging – I read it in 2 days! We talk with JT about his book, about how he and his wife adopted their daughter from China, and how he started BothHands.org. We also go into detail about how their process works – of helping fund your adoption AND at the same time serving a widow in your community. I absolutely LOVE what BothHands.org is doing for the adoption world – and especially for widows. This is truly amazing! Another really cool thing about BothHands.org:They believe in the importance of adoption and are committed to doing everything they can to help bring families together. That’s why they don’t take out any administrative fees from donations to their projects. How many other non-profits do this? Not many. Here’s what you’ll hear: * The personal tragedy of how JT became an orphan as a young child. * How he and his wife decided to adopt – and how he felt when he first held his little girl Grace in his arms. * What happened after they adopted Grace, brought her home and then she wouldn’t go to JT until the one day when she finally “chose” him. * Hear how and why JT decided to start BothHands.org. * Find out how the process works and how you too can start a project to fund your adoption while serving a widow near you. * Find out how much the average family raises for their adoption when working with BothHands. * Find out how they’ve been able to serve over 1000 widows and orphans since they started this mission. Links we talk about in this episode: * BothHands.org – JT’s incredible non-profit organization where you can literal...
