Margo is joined by artist and illustrator Linda Bleck. Linda began her illustration career in 1987 after moving to New York with a fresh degree in graphic design. For the first 15 years of her career she was an Editorial Illustrator before shifting into more corporate collateral work. Her illustration style has evolved several times over the course of her career as well as her inspiration behind projects. While early on in illustrating she was told her work was too sophisticated for a children’s book but as the market shifted and she looked to reinvent herself years later, she decided no was not an option and once again pursued children’s illustration.  In 2012 Linda had a life altering health issue that once again forced her to change the way she worked which resulted in new creative mediums as well as a more renewed colorful palette. The last three years she has been working for Eeboo on product design and toys along with getting back into editorial illustration.

Margo and Linda discuss:

  • Her creative path and the impact of family with creative roots

  • Resiliency and decision making, how to know when to keep trying something and when to change lanes

  • Her experiences with agents and agencies (the good and the bad)

  • Finding balance and harmony within her career

  • How she instilled creativity in her kids and instilling resourcefulness

  • Chronica and invisible illnesses, comfort zones, and reinventing yourself
