More younger people are getting their news from TikTok. For information about conflicts like the Israel-Hamas war, some of the videos that the app’s algorithm serves users can be intense, polarizing or hard to verify. The Wall Street Journal recently conducted an experiment to see what kinds of war videos were served to accounts registered as 13-year-old users on the platform. WSJ technology reporter Sam Schechner joins host Alex Ossola to share more about the experiment, and what it means for the experiences of some of TikTok’s youngest users.
