On Thursday, the Supreme Court ruled against the Navajo Nation — the largest Native American reservation in the United States – in its effort to make the federal government take steps to secure water from the Colorado River for the tribe. The decision comes as seven states are fighting over access to the West's most important river, whose flows have shrunken roughly 20 percent over the past two decades of drought.
