The Labor Party is looking very likely to secure a slim majority in the house of representatives, meaning they will be able to pass legislation without the assistance of the giant new crossbench. Will that limit the new independent MPs' ability to deliver on the promises they made to the electorate? Or does it put them in the perfect position to solidify their place in the parliament? David Speers and James Glenday are joined by ABC Foreign Affairs reporter Stephen Dziedzic to discuss the first week of the new government, and the Prime Minister's attempts to rehabilitate Australia's climate reputation.
