Eric Holder is the third longest-serving Attorney General in American history, holding the role from 2009 to 2015 under President Barack Obama. He’s written a new book on voting rights called Our Unfinished March: The Violent Past and Imperiled Future of the Vote. Holder joins Preet to discuss the likelihood that the Department of Justice will indict former President Trump, his fight against partisan gerrymandering, and what he makes of so-called “progressive prosecutors.”  Plus, the latest on the House January 6th Committee hearings: the allegation that GOP lawmakers sought presidential pardons for their roles in the Big Lie, and an eyebrow-raising testimony from a former White House lawyer.  In the bonus for CAFE Insiders, Preet and Attorney General Holder discuss their unsuccessful joint effort to try Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, who the 9/11 Commission called the “principal architect of the 9/11 attacks,” in a civilian court in Manhattan. Mohammed, more commonly known as KSM, remains in detention at Guantanamo Bay. To listen, try the membership for just $1 for one month: cafe.com/insider.
