Lissette Acosta Corniel, assistant professor in the Department of Race and Ethnic Studies at the Borough of Manhattan Community College, CUNY, discusses the CUNY Dominican Studies Institute's research on los primeros negros or 'first blacks,' who became the ancestors of Black Dominicans.
