Last year was the eighth hottest year on record for Australia, high temperatures in the atmosphere and oceans along with a roller coaster of climate events made 2023 a "wild year" for our environment.

More animals and plants were added to the list of threatened species and those already on the list declined at a faster rate. That's one of the findings from the 2023 Australia's  Environment Report.
