Since its 1976 establishment, the Office of Inspector General (OIG) has been at the forefront of the Nation's efforts to fight waste, fraud and abuse and to improve the efficiency of Medicare, Medicaid and more than 100 other Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) programs. OIG is the largest inspector general's office in the Federal Government with approximately 1,600 personnel. The majority of the agency’s resources go towards the oversight of Medicare and Medicaid — programs that represent a significant part of the Federal budget and that affect this country's most vulnerable citizens. That’s where we find Supervisor Special agent, Julie Rivera, Undercover Agent Croqueta and Special Agent, Omar Perez Aybar. And they are busy! Since Covid, there have been 1,762 indicted in Medicare and Medicaid fraud, but there is a lot you can do to safeguard your identity and ensure that other taxpayers and fellow subscribers are not victimized. For one thing, start by calling 1-800-447-8477, the HHSOIG Tip Line.

If you are a Medicare or Medicaid recipient, you’re sadly a dollar sign to some very greedy people
