Disappointment and pain is all part of life’s journey. We can’t get through this world without experiencing it in some form or fashion. However, how we respond to that pain will determine our suffering. Today I sit down with Dr. Curt Thompson and we discuss the moments in life that form us and our response to those events that can lead us down a path of hope even in our suffering.

Dr. Curt Thompson is a psychiatrist, speaker and author. He connects our intrinsic desire to be known with the need to tell truer stories about ourselves — showing us how to form deep relationships, discover meaning and live integrated, creative lives. Curt understands that deep, authentic relationships are essential to experiencing a healthier, more purposeful life — but the only way to realize this is to begin telling our stories more truly. He is married to his wife Phyllis and they have two adult children, Rachel and Nathan, and a son-in-law, Noah.

In the midst of suffering, hope can be hard to find. I pray in your search for hope that you have confidence in knowing you are securely attached to your loving Father. When we fully grasp that truth I believe a peace beyond understanding washes over us and carries us through.
