But a global pandemic, two lockdowns and a tier system later... TV viewing figures have reached a record high. Some 27.5 million people tuned in to watch Boris Johnson's address at the peak of the pandemic, followed by some light relief as viewers turned to all-time favourites Strictly, I'm A Celeb, and Great British Bake Off, which have smashed previous TV viewing figures by a mile.
