Harvard President, Dr Claudine Gay has faced calls to resign since she testified at a nearly six-hour congressional hearing into campus anti-Semitism a week ago. But, many Harvard professors and alumni are among those pushing for the President to stay.

Over 700 faculty members put their names to a letter urging Harvard "to defend the independence of the university and to resist political pressures that are at odds with Harvard's commitment to academic freedom". And now the Harvard board have unanimously backed the president to remain in her post.
