It's Mardi Gras season and the boys are feeling it. Kraken Reaction has Jeff and Joey breaking down the Seattle Kraken's Canadian road trip and all of the things that went right and wrong in last week's 0-3 record starting with the Kraken getting pegged in Winnipeg after getting stomped at home by one of the NHL's best, the Toronto Maple Leafs. The team started the game quickly up 2-0 and in typical Kraken Shit form, gave up a goal with 12.9 seconds left in the 1st period and ultimately losing 5-3 with an empty net dagger. In Calgary, we saw the return of their former Captain Mark Giordano and the Kraken hung tough against the red hot Flames but it wasn't enough and ended up falling 2-1 despite Grubauer's 35 saves on an historic night in the NHL with Everett Fitzhugh and JT Brown calling it from the broadcast booth as the first ever all black broadcasting team in NHL history. The boys cover how much they love being a part of an organization that goes out of its way to recognize and provide opportunities for minorities to thrive in the world of hockey as well as the touching Gio tribute and a credit to everyone who has to work at the Saddledome covering games risking their lives on their (likely illegal) catwalk. Next, Jeff and Joey preview upcoming matchups versus the New York Islanders and Boston Bruins at home before the Kraken are once again on the road facing the San Jose Sharks. Did you know that the city of San Jose has trees as well as four separate Wendy's locations?! Joey predicts an epic battle with Boston is coming up in his "game of the week" after the controversial hit Yanni Gourde dished out in their last match up as well as Brad Marchand returning from suspension. The two again discuss Brad Marchand, his history in the league, and Jeff defends his stance on wanting a guy like Marchand on the Kraken if they ever get the chance. No Dumb Questions has Joey ask Jeff what exactly is a two-pad stacker and why is it so special after witnessing a beautiful one by Jacob Markstrok on an Eberle shot attempt in Calgary. Last, Hockey History with Jeff has him covering the history of Goalie equipment. Happy Mardi Gras, y'all!   Subscribe On All podcasting apps, rate & review on iTunes and Apple Podcasts!
