Dr Sarah Lawley from the Australian Institute of Energy told yesterday's hearing that battery storage isn't keeping up with the increase in solar and wind farms, leading to periods of energy oversupply.

Dr Sarah Lawley, an energy professional, has given evidence to the inquiry,  warning the national grid is at times struggling to handle the volume of solar power being produced.

Dr Lawley says the rollout of large-scale storage batteries still won't meet the oversupply issue.
