The government has introduced new laws to allow the construction union to be split, allowing manufacturing division members - many of whom are in feminised industries - to leave.

There's been increasing pressure on the union and the behaviour of its leadership, following a campaign by the Victorian CFMEU boss John Setka against the AFL.

Guest: Michele O'Neil, President of the Australian Council of Trade Unions.
