'Good base to build on': Low voter turnout for SA Voice

While the national voice to parliament may have failed, SA will have its own version of the proposal up and running later this year. But some are questioning how effective the bodies will be, after fewer than 10% of the 30,000 Indigenous people eligible to vote cast a ballot.

Kyam Maher, SA Attorney General and  Minister for Aboriginal Affairs says while there are a "range of factors" impacting elements of the election, but says he's very pleased with "strong nominations" and he believes it is a "good base to build on".
