The first ever release of gender pay gap data of big companies with more than a hundred employees is some pretty stark reading, with dozens of businesses recording a pay gap of around 50 per cent.

Chief Executive Women President Susan Lloyd-Hurwitz says Australia has one of the most "segregated workforces by gender in the OECD", but believes this data is a "useful tool" to help close that gap nationwide.
