Today, Giles Alderson and co-host Lucinda Rhodes Thakrar welcome the incredible Philip Barantini! He is the writer-director-producer of the Indie One-Take Film Boiling Point (2021), which won multiple BIFA awards, including Best Cinematography, Best Supporting Actress, Best Casting, Best Sound, & and Phil was also nominated for Best Director!

Phil dives deep into his filmmaking career: He talks about how he started out as an actor, how he slowly shifted into directing and into the mindset of a director, and his learnings from that. He also talks about his first feature film Villain (2020) and obviously everything about how Boiling Point came about and how he made it.

Who hasn’t thought of making a One-Take Film? No one. So listen up! This is a masterclass on how to actually shoot a Oner. Phil discusses rehearsals, how he works with actors, which camera he used, and why making a One-Take-Film is like ballet.

We had a great chat with Phil. He gives tons of tips & tricks on directing. So sit back, relax, and enjoy this week’s episode with Philip Barantini.

BOILING POINT is coming out on the 7th January 2022 in cinemas & on Streaming Platforms!
