This Sunday, July 10, is the tenth anniversary of Frank Ocean's debut studio album, channel ORANGE. The Grammy award-winning album can be found on many lists recapping the best projects of the 2010's and is highly influential in modern R&B today, on top of Ocean also being a popular, yet simultaneously mysterious celebrity figure. With us to talk about the music on the album, its initial popularity, and how its influence can continue to be seen today, is Jason King, chair of the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at NYU, and Ryan Dombal, features editor for Pitchfork who wrote the review of channel ORANGE back in 2012. Plus, we take your calls.
