The Dallas Mavericks will not have a lot of money to play with when free agency opens in 2020. Tim Hardaway Jr. will likely opt into an $18 million player option, which will limit the Mavs quite a bit. But perhaps they can begin scouting affordable players like Justin Holiday of the Indiana Pacers in Orlando. Holiday is having his best shooting year of his career and continues to show what he can do on the defensive end. With Victor Oladipo out, he could prove his worth in Orlando.

Yogi Ferrell and Jae Crowder are two former Dallas Mavericks that will be free agents this summer. Jae Crowder has been a fan favorite of Mavs fans since he left, and he could be a valuable addition to the team thanks to his defensive presence, firepower off the bench and his 3-point shooting ability. Ferrell and the Dallas Mavericks had a bit of a falling out when he backed out on re-signing with Dallas a couple summers ago, but perhaps they could mend that relationship and he could replace JJ Barea on the Mavs’ bench.
Dario Saric and Jakob Poeltl are two big men that will hit free agency this summer and should be on the Dallas Mavericks’ radar. The Dallas Mavericks are well known for their ability to revitalize careers, and Dario Saric could be another one of those projects. Jakob Poeltl is a young big man who is having a solid year with the San Antonio Spurs, but perhaps he could find himself moving a little north with the Mavs potentially looking to add a traditional big to the rotation this summer.
