Day by day, the scale of need across the disaster zone in southern Türkiye and northern Syria expands dramatically. While rescue crews continue the search, those displaced are sheltering in makeshift camps, aid tents, and even train carriages to escape the region's harsh winter. But as rescue will make way for recovery, shelter will need to last beyond the short-term. Tom Bamforth is a writer and aid worker who specialises in shelter and settlements, and joins Blueprint to canvas what kinds of shelters are available — from Ikea's award-winning flatpack to the DIY.  If you would like to help those affected by the disaster, head to abc.net.au/gives
