Kathrin and I discussed having divorced parents, starting to write at the age of 10, learning to forgive yourself, drug use, rehab,  PTSD, punishing yourself by not writing for 4 years, suicide attempts, the recovery community, being court-ordered out of her mom's house, hitting bottom when the possibility of felony charge drug possession was a reality, strangers believing in you - to publishing as a dark fantasy Indie publisher, ghostwriting and doing such an amazing job that her husband stays home with their daughter.

I adore her and have read two of her books which are phenomenal!

IN HER WORDS:

1) Wife and mother of a three-year-old, happy, healthy, "adulting", doing what I love, FREE... from heroin addiction, near homelessness, near-death hospitalizations, and jail

2) Full-time fiction author and ghostwriter, International Bestselling Indie Author, living my dream, and being the sole provider for my family... from "unpublished author" with an exploding file of traditional agent rejection letters, loads of guilt and self-shaming/punishing (see item 1 above lol), wondering if I even COULD still write after 4+ years of not touching a word of fiction. Oh, and trying to make all that happen between giving birth at home, moving across the country with a 10-month-old, husband, and two dogs, and finally sending my toddler to preschool.
