Submit ReviewWhen we polled our audience to discuss their favorite home cooked meals, it became obvious that everyone's upbringing is different. People come from different background, and that influences the food they eat. The beauty about your favorite home cooked meal is that it's not a contest. There is no best, there's just your favorite. Someone might really enjoy pig ears, but if you didn't grow up on that, then you can't appreciate it the way that person does. When someone talks about their favorite home cooked meal, it's really showcasing a bit of their history and personality, and that's pretty cool.
When it comes to a common theme between different home cooked meals, the consensus is that they provide a hearty feeling. Meatloaf, pot roast, fried chicken, creamed chip beef, etc. etc. all leave your insides feeling warm. Something about these types of meals from childhood make you feel like a fireplace is near by, because that's the level of comfort the memory provides.
