The New York Yankees had a rough 2023, but we’re going through all the good stuff because there was some good stuff! Gerrit Cole! He’s probably winning a Cy Young, and he had an amazing 2023. Gleyber Torres! He was pretty much the only consistent guy on offense all season. Aaron Judge (when he was playing)! He had that amazing series in Toronto and broke the Maple Leaf! Or that game against the Angels with the home run and the home run-robbing catch against Shohei Ohtani! We had German’s perfecto, Stanton’s 400th home run, Rizzo before his injury, and Jasson Dominguez hitting his first MLB home run against Justin Verlander and helping the Yankees sweep the Astros. The Yankees effectively ended the Red Sox’s playoff chances. Plus, the performances of Clarke Schmidt, Randy Vasquez, Jhony Brito, Michael King, the bullpen as a whole, Clay Holmes’ bounceback, Anthony Volpe, and the kids in the Minors! See?
