After a dreadful effort against the Ottawa Senators the Montreal Canadiens needed a bounceback and in their way was the Boston Bruins on Saturday night. Through two periods the Habs were going blow for blow with one of the best teams in the NHL, and then the wheels fell off in a big way as they lost 9-4. With a Senators rematch looming on Tuesday and Patrick Roy arriving on Long Island, how can the Canadiens get right in a crucial week?

On the falling list is unsurprisingly the Habs defence which hasn't helped the goaltenders in the recent run of defeats and will need to shape up quickly before the season starts spiraling. Related to that, Scott has some questions of Martin St. Louis and his handling of the Habs loss to the Bruins. Finally on the down list, the Senators organization and how they behaved in a heated series over the weekend against the Laval Rocket, including one of the players choosing to attack a goalie.

On the flipside, Scott has plenty of praise for members of the Rocket team, as unexpected names and two hot goaltenders helped to extend a point streak to nine straight games in the AHL. Also rising and rising fast with the Trade Deadline right around the corner is Sean Monahan, who posted three assists in the loss to the Bruins and is turning himself into a highly coveted option for playoff teams. Then, there's the red-hot form of Cole Caufield, which is great news for the Habs as it would appear their top winger is rounding back into his peak goalscoring form.
