Submit ReviewThis week we head back to the Netflix library and select a couple films to discuss. An unplanned theme quickly reveals itself as both films are about artists and the challenges of creating art and what happens when that art is put out in the world. First we discuss the Tim Burton film Big Eyes (2014). Starring Christoph Waltz and Amy Adams the film is about Margaret Keane and her husband who took credit for her big eyed paintings. Next we discuss Frank (2014) a film about an eccentric rock band that performs avant garde music but is changed when a new ambitious keyboard player joins the band. The film stars Michael Fassbender, Domhnall Gleeson, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Scoot McNairy.
Next we unveil a new segment called Movie Memories. Where we go back through some of our most memorable movie going experiences. Joe discusses how American History X was a life changing film for him. Nick talks about a screening that was a real switcheroo.
Then, next week we are changing things up once again with a Christmas themed Embarrassed As F#@% as we discuss It’s A Wonderful Life a film Nick has never seen, and a film Joe has never seen The Bishop’s Wife. We are joined by Joe’s friend and a classic Hollywood afficiando Sally Steuterman Hallada.
