This week we discuss Shimmer Lake (2017) & The Stanford Prison Experiment (2015). Shimmer Lake is an interesting crime thriller of a small-town bank robbery and the unraveling of the mystery as we learn everyone in this small town is connected in some way. The film is also told in reverse, so there is a lot to digest. Then we discuss the fascinating dramatization of the infamous Stanford Prison Experiment. It was a study where young college men take part in a psychological experiment as they assume the roles of prison guards and prisoners to horrifying results. Both films are interesting, worth watching and available on Netflix.

Next we go to a newer segment Whatever Happened To? Where Nick and Joe discuss some of their favorite character actors and what they are up to now. Nick wants to find out more about Greg Kinnear and Joe is curious about Jeanne Tripplehorn.

Then we usually select our films for next week. But sadly we have to announce a brief hiatus for the show. Due to crazy work and personal schedules Nick and Joe are taking a break for the month of September. But fear not LWAFvotè’s we will be back with more fun shows in October! See you soon!
