This week, The Coaching Journey Podcast is excited to welcome Dr. Peter Vint on the show! Dr. Vint is a former Academy Director with Everton Football Club as well as being considered one of the top experts in the world on high performance athletes. He spent ten years with the United States Olympic Committee serving as Senior Director of Competitive Analysis, Research, and Innovation among other roles. He is currently the Co-Founder of Protea Analytics. We have a great discussion looking at Peter's roles with the United States Olympic Committee, talking about using analytics and whether or not there is such a thing as "too much information." We discuss creating assessment models and how Peter thinks data analysis can be used by any coach or club to help them improve, whether it be how they play or how they identify talent. Looking at his time at Everton, we talk about management styles and how Peter entered the role, instituting new ideas in a traditional organization. He shares great lessons and ideas that any coach at any level can take something away from! Be sure to follow Peter on Twitter: @PeterVint and on LinkedIn here!
