The Pinnacle™ Awards, created in April 1995 by the ASFD, celebrate design excellence across the retail home furnishings industry. These highly prestigious awards showcase the best designs introduced each year across 16 individual categories, including: Accessories, Casual Dining, Formal Dining, Leather Upholstery, Occasional Storage, Summer/Casual, Youth, Bedroom, Entertainment Centers, Home Office, Lighting, Motion Upholstery, Occasional Tables, Stationary Upholstery, and Major Collections. Founded in 1981, ASFD is an international, non-profit, professional organization dedicated to advancing, improving and supporting the profession of furniture design and its positive impact in the marketplace. Professional Members specialize in the design of residential and contract furnishings and accessories. Membership includes both American and International professional designers, trade affiliates and associates, professors and furniture design students. Corporate Members include suppliers of products and services to the industry and furniture manufacturing companies who wish to support the goals and objectives of the Society. Congratulations to Pinnacle Award Winner Chad Phillips from Century Furniture   Aviva Stanoff’s roots run deep.  A hometown nestled between the beach and old growth redwoods, childhood summers spent tending flowers and other chores around her grandfather’s Buddhist temple in Japan, and over 15 years working in the design industry in  New York City form the natural and cultural tapestry of her aesthetic.  Her reverence of nature, respect for Japanese tradition, and affinity for urban life shape the refined complexity inherent in her work. While completing her MFA, Stanoff spent a summer in NYC working nights designing runway textiles while interning during the day at Calvin Klein Home. By graduation, Stanoff’s designs for Calvin Klein were on the store shelves, and her runway work earned her a mention in Vogue.  Upon graduation, she continued to focus on apparel, designing textiles for top fashion houses in New York, London, and Paris. Clients included: Christian Dior, Givenchy Couture, and Donna Karan, among others.  In 2004, Aviva launched her own line of home accessories in Brooklyn. Her products were noted as a “Best Bet” by the New York Times in her inaugural season. Using her signature printing technique of pressing real objects into fabric, she created a small collection of decorative pillows and she never looked back. Aviva’s work is known for her combination of sophistication, innovation, and subtlety.  She has travelled the world for the last 15 years cool hunting and developing beautiful textiles not only for her own collection but for clients. Aviva's textile designs were invited to be part of the permanent collection at the Brooklyn Museums' Decorative Arts Textile Collection in 2012. In the same year, she received the Most Innovative Product Award from the American Society of Interior Designers in New York and to date has won this award four years running.  Her textiles are featured in anchor hospitality properties including Nobu, The Trump Soho, The Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas. ABC Home in NYC recently awarded her a Textile Vendor of the Year for the fourth year in a row.  She is currently collaborating with Bergdorf Goodman, Barney’s New York, Neiman Marcus, and Tiffany’s among others.  She is regularly invited to showcase her work with interior designer Show Houses. (New York Holiday House, Palm Springs Modernism Week) She will launch a collaborative lighting collection with the Currey and Company in Spring 2016. In the works for 2017:  a floor coverings collection with Jaipur Living and a collection of Wall Art and Decorative Accessories with Global Views. Most days you can find Aviva in her design studio by the beach in Southern California.. She has been manufacturing in house from the beginning.  She welcomes studio visits, licensing opportunities,
