Claire Staszak is a Chicago-based interior decorator known for her holistic design process that combines a refined aesthetic with wellness principles. In addition to her interior design training, Claire Staszak draws on her years of experience as a yoga and meditation instructor to gently guide her clients through the process of uncovering or refining their own unique style, tailoring the experience to their home and lifestyle. The result is a sanctuary that is timeless, not trendy—a home that is centered by design.
Having honed her design skills with apprenticeships at high-end residential firms Nate Berkus Associates and Kate Marker Interiors, Claire’s interiors effortlessly combine what’s fresh and new with the tried-and-true. Her work has been featured by The Chicago Tribune, Rue Magazine, and Domino, and in 2016 she was honored with a nomination for HGTV’s Fresh Faces of Design Competition. In 2017, her namesake blog, Centered by Design, was awarded Best Blog Writing by the Design Bloggers Conference.
Claire Staszak has studied interior design at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and holds a Certificate of Kitchen and Bath Design from Harper College. She is also a certified yoga instructor with more than 500 hours of training.
For her latest project, she has seized the opportunity to infuse her own home with her eclectic personal style, renovating a 1932 Tudor-style brick bungalow with her husband in Chicago. Claire blogs about the renovation, interior design topics, and shares monthly interviews with interior design firms around the globe in her series Design School.
