Acclaimed guitarist Charlie Hunter talks "Musical Mentors" on Episode 57 of 'The JamBase Podcast.' Hunter's interview comes after an introduction by JamBase's Andy Kahn that includes a quick recap of notable live music stories since the last episode came out as well as a shout out for the organization Dance Safe. Charlie Hunter spoke with JamBase's Scott Bernstein aboard Jam Cruise 18. Hunter discussed his earliest days as a musician and growing up with a mother who repaired guitars. He then talked about taking lessons from Joe Satriani and his first tours. Next, Charlie recalled how TJ Kirk came together as well as his quartet's rendition of Bob Marley's 'Natty Dread' for Blue Note' Cover Series. Finally, Hunter noted his mentors on the business side of the music industry, younger musicians he mentors and explained what he has in store for 2020 and beyond.
