Kelsey Waldon talks "Musical Mentors" and Ben Morrison of The Brothers Comatose participated in a "Quit My Day Job" segment for Episode 50 of The JamBase Podcast. The interviews follow "The Rundown" of recent news stories. JamBase's Andy Kahn and Scott Bernstein host "The Rundown." AK and Scotty recap the bevy of tour announcements from the past two weeks including The Black Crowes 2020 reunion tour. Scotty attended the band's first show in six years, which took place on November 11 at New York City's Bowery Ballroom, and shares his experience. Waldon chatted with Scotty in New York City about her "Musical Mentors." Kelsey explains what she learned from John Prine whose Oh Boy Records label recently issued her 'White Noise/White Lines' studio album. Waldon then recalls her earliest days as a musician and an eighth grade school project that foreshadowed her future. Next, the Monkey's Eyebrow, Kentucky native describes her hometown, her upbringing and a move to Nashville. Kelsey also discusses her influences, those who took her under their wing, those who taught her about the business end of the music industry and additional topics. Morrison spoke with JamBase's David Onigman in Oakland for "Quit My Day Job." Ben discusses a few of the day jobs he held down before making the decision to become a full-time musician. The singer-songwriter also talks growing up in Petaluma, California and taking part in a high school talent show with his brother Alex . Ben held down a day job while still performing often and talks of the experience. Morrison also discusses his recently released solo album, 'Old Technology,' and more.
