David Santiago has been blessed with two talents an interior designer and a seasonal opera singer. He started in the fabric and textile end of the design trade with a specialty of window treatments and soft furnishings. That quickly led him to work for Design Firm on Madison Avenue, NYC, where his interior design education was born. Working hands-on in the industry quickly molded him and gave him the foundation to become the designer he is today.   David Santiago has over 20 years of experience in the design trade, combined with a sophisticated classical background. He decided to start his own firm in 2011, Casa Santi, LLC, where he’s eager to share the possibilities you can achieve within your residential or commercial space. He has a practical and common sense approach to how he works: First, he assesses the project, your needs, style, function of the tasks at hand with the proposed budget. Then, he applies his traditional, unexpected, curation with his design expertise to achieve a cohesive successful concept, ultimately defining his client...YOU!   For him it's about telling your story through visually appealing design and decor with a beautifully curated space. As an advocate of the trade community, he’s Vice President of the Interior Design Society (IDS) and vice president of IFDA membership, both in the New York chapters. While working as an interior designer, he never gave up the desire to study the Performing Arts. After studying acting theater at HB Studio in New York, it led him to study voice at Mannes Conservatory of Music, where he fell in love with Opera.  This passion led him to perform as part of New York City Opera for eight years and in 2014, he made his Carnegie Hall debut. His design experience has also inspired him to introduce his Strictly Santi Furniture Line (one of a kind pieces and original designs.)
