We’re visited once again by our good friend, acclaimed food and beverage educator, journalist and cookbook author, Katie Parla. In her latest book, she breaks out of her adopted hometown of Rome to taste, explore and research Italy’s southern peninsula, including visits to such regions as Campania and Puglia. The resulting work is Food of the Italian South which features 85 recipes Katie gathered during her travels. We drop into the legendary Dangerbird Records’ studio for a meetup with the brothers Rosen--guitarist/vocalist Jonathan and keyboardist/producer Michael--who go by the band moniker, Cones. Though each are longtime musicians, the brothers have just recently began collaborating, and their debut album, Pictures of Pictures, has drawn comparisons to Big Star, The Replacements and ELO.
