After finishing with the worst pass defense in the country in each of the last two seasons, Arizona State is hoping to rebound under new defensive coordinator Phil Bennett. However, last week, the Sun Devils learned they'll have to make significant improvements without the help of junior safety Armand Perry, who announced his retirement from football due to medical reasons. Perry was expected to be a key leader for the Sun Devils in the secondary, but offseason surgery and a rough injury history forced Perry to reconsider his plans. IN this week's edition of the 'Sun Devil Source Report,' hosts Kerry Crowley and Chris Karpman break down what Perry's loss means for the Sun Devils and explain what ASU's secondary will now look like this fall. Additionally, the hosts continue their Pac-12 preview series by ranking the conference's linebacker and defensive back units, in order to provide broader overall context of where ASU stands heading into the 2017 season. The latter half of the episode was recorded before Perry elected to retire, but the Sun Devils still rank near the bottom of the conference in terms of their overall capabilities in the secondary.
