Coffinier Ku Design is a partnership between Etienne Coffinier and Ed Ku.  The company was founded in 1998 to bring a French-trained expertise in architecture and interior design to the United States market.  The company philosophy is that it provides design work beginning with a strong structural and architectural base and continuing into detailed, primarily custom furniture and furnishings.   Based in New York City, Coffinier Ku Design has become known for its innovative designs in both the residential and restaurant worlds.  The company and its clients treasure its ability to deliver custom work designed specifically for the needs of the individual client.  This custom design begins with architectural spaces and continues to include doors, woodwork, upholstery, case goods, lighting, draperies.  Custom-designed work has ranged from the architectural renovation of a home in Southampton to the creation of a forged iron staircase to Lucite coffee tables and includes almost all elements of a home or restaurant.   Residential work has included a loft in Soho, complete architectural renovation of a West Village townhouse, apartments on Park Avenue, an apartment in Paris among many others.  Recent projects include the complete architectural renovation of houses in Upstate New York and LaJolla.   Coffinier Ku Design is also acclaimed for its work in the commercial world with its design of the restaurants Morrell Wine Bar Cafe in Rockefeller Center, Picholine for Chef Terrance Brennan, Piano Due in the Equitable Building, and Frog in Soho for which it was awarded the Best Bathroom Design by Hospitality Design.  The company has designed building lobbies including 255 East 74th Street for World Wide Holdings in which it also designed all the condominium bathrooms and kitchens in addition to the lobby.  Coffinier Ku Design has also worked for 3 private clubs in New York City on projects including complete renovation of guest bedrooms, entertainment rooms, main dining rooms.   The work of Coffinier Ku Design has been featured in publications such as The New York Times, New York Spaces, Interiors, The Washington Post, Town Country, Hospitality Design, Contract, The Wall Street Journal, New York Home, The New York Observer, and Restaurant Insider.   Coffinier Ku Design has been named one of New York’s Top 50 Designers by New York Spaces and has participated in four Kips Bay Boys Girls Club Decorator Show Houses.   Visit their Website here Add Ettinne's book recomendation, Cousin Bette by Balzac, to your library by clicking here                 Add Ed's book recommendation, The Fountainhead, to your library by clicking here
