Welcome to Episode 37 of the podcast!
This show is brought to you by Gateway Drum Smokers. These smokers are tearing up the competition circuit across Canada and the United States, and for good reason. The natural convection airflow means your meat cooks in a fraction of the time! Briskets in 4 hours. Ribs in 2 hours. Cooking hot & fast means your meat retains an exceptional amount of moisture. The flavour from cooking on cans is unparalleled. Find yours at Home Hardware in Red Deer, and at WickerLand in Calgary or details at

My guests this week are Lloyd Poulter and Debora Rice-Salomons talking about the upcoming Heritage Heat Western Smokin’ BBQ competition coming up in Cremona, AB on May 24-26. The Professional Competition on Sunday is a KCBS sanctioned event and is part of the Alberta Cup series of events. There is also a Kid’s BBQ contest on Sunday and a Backyard BBQ Amateur Competition on Saturday. Friday night features a Steak Dinner and dance in the Big Red Barn! This is going to be a great event and I’m looking forward to it! My office is entering a team in the Amateur competition and I’m excited about my first competition. Check out
