Welcome to Episode 35 of the podcast! This show is brought to you by Gateway Drum Smokers. These smokers are tearing up the competition circuit across the United States, and for good reason. The natural convection airflow means your meat cooks in a fraction of the time! Briskets in 4 hours. Ribs in 2 hours. Cooking hot & fast means your meat retains an exceptional amount of moisture. The flavour from cooking on cans is unparalleled. Find yours at Home Hardware in Red Deer, and at WickerLand in Calgary or check out www.prairiebbq.com for more details. The curling season is over for Team Chalifour in the Springbank Curling Club Tuesday Night Men’s League. We played in the B side final last Tuesday and lost to the Rod Haas team. Congrats to them and to the A side winner. We showed some great improvement this year and I’m enjoying a few weeks off now before golf season starts out at the Links of GlenEagles in Cochrane! My guest on the show this week is Rob Turner from Bigg Smoak BBQ in Grunthal, MB, about 40 minutes outside of Winnipeg. Bigg Smoak is a brick and mortar restaurant along with a food truck and catering operation. Robb transitioned from a career driving truck into the barbecue business, while his wife grew up in the restaurant business. Visit them at 69 Main Street in Grunthal, MB, or check them out on social media on Twitter @biggsmoakbbq, on Instagram @biggsmoak and on Facebook at Bigg Smoak BBQ. They are closed Sundays and open Monday through Saturday from 5:30 am to 9:00 pm. Check their social media or website, www.biggsmoakbbq.ca for updated hours and special events and menu items. Be sure to listen to the close of the podcast for a special offer for our listeners and Canadian BBQ Society members.
