Submit ReviewSoulful Funky Black and Brilliant x Critical Grace (in Music) Theory - 1619 Project Documentary Crew Party - December 4 2021 - Bed-Stuy Brooklyn New York City
Thanks to old and new friends, I DJed a Saturday night Brooklyn house party for the crew of the #1619project documentary, coming out in 2022 on Hulu. I loved seeing NHJ sangin’ MJB with all her heart and soul. #fortheculture
To witness, and be part of the reason why Nikole Hannah-Jones was letting her soul fly free in the midst of a celebration for the Shoshanna Guy led production crew for the #1619Project Documentary - slated to air in 2022 on Hulu...to witness someone who courageously faces so much scrutiny for furthering the conversations about America with tremendous grace, and see her beaming while dancing and singing along to a just-for-her Mary J. Blige medley, I saw her for who she is, and she is all of us. I met a (S)hero and she was all that and more.
A highlight in my DJ life to be a sparkle of joy on her journey through it all.
