Kathryn Greeley, owner of Kathryn Greeley Designs, has been providing professional interior design services for elegant lifestyles in the Southeast for more than thirty years. Kathryn’s career began after she obtained her bachelor’s degree in interior design from Western Carolina University. She started her own business, Kathryn Greeley Designs, then decided to return to school to complete a master’s degree in interior design…just in case she wanted to teach. She soon found that her greatest passion was practicing interior design, rather than teaching.
Kathryn’s aesthetic is rooted in the English country house look, which has led to the development of her design philosophy which is “collected, not decorated”. Kathryn’s work has a sense of history and timeless elegance. In addition to designing elegant and comfortable interiors, Kathryn Greeley Designs puts a great deal of focus on client service and attention to details.
In time, this design philosophy led to her passion for entertaining and designing exquisite “collected tabletops”. Known for her gracious entertaining and expert knowledge of tabletop collections, Kathryn was primed to create her first book, The Collected Tabletop, which debuted in 2011 and is now in its third printing. Kathryn continues to share her love of design, collections, and entertaining advice through her blog entitled The Collected Room.
Kathryn is a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers and is a past president of the North and South Carolina chapter of ASID. She is an avid gardener and cook and lives at Chestnut Cottage in Waynesville, NC with her husband Wells and their second West Highland Terrier, Duncan MacDuff.
Kathryn’s Design work, her garden and The Collected Tabletop have all been showcased in both regional and national publications such as Traditional Home, Southern Living, Carolina Home and Garden, At Home in Arkansas, Texas Home and Living and Country Living.
Kathryn speaks often at art and antique shows across the country and continues to inspire clients and her blog readers to embrace gracious living, timeless design, and to create traditions.
