Submit ReviewIn Part 1 of Episode 32, Arthur talks about how his growing addiction, during a three year period, changed him from the outgoing, positive person (the life of the party) to someone who isolated himself from his friends.
The post Arthur – Part 1 appeared first on American Addiction Centers.
Growing up in Las Vegas, Nevada, Arthur had so much resentment towards his family, especially towards his mother. He had so much anger that he wanted to cover up his feelings but he didn’t know how to at the time. After the death of his father, Arthur’s life (then 18) took a tailspin. He happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time with a friend when he did heroin for the first time. During that time Arthur felt like he was in control. He had no idea what addiction was. By the time he turned 22 Arthur began to use three grams of heroin a day. Once those close to him knew that he had a problem, he finally agreed to get help.
A month and a half clean from treatment Arthur relapsed on the anniversary of his father’s death. His mind was once again flooded with frustration, he isolated himself once more. Arthur would proceed on the worst run of his substance abuse, which would culminate in an unfortunate discovery during another trip to treatment.
