It’s 1958, and we meet Louis "Hambone" Butler, a Memphis railway porter who looks in a boxcar and discovers an abandoned Telecaster customized with unique wood. The skill Louis shows when playing Sugar Maple may give him his big break, if he can avoid the schemes of a rival who wants it for himself, and the seething anger that rises whenever he plays.
