Episode 172 of TAWF is here and we’ve got a few big news stories to talk about!

Deadie Deadwards

News has been circulating that three of Impact Wrestling’s biggest and most consistent workers would be departing.  Those names were Ethan Carter (EC3), Bobby Lashley, and Eddie Edwards.  EC3 to WWE was a lock.  Bobby Lashley, however, is having talks with New Japan Pro Wrestling and WWE.  Eddie Edwards was rumored to head back to ROH or show-up in NXT.  Dave Meltzer reported that Eddie would stay with Impact for the time being.

In an insane twist, in-line with Impact’s hard-luck existence over the last 16 years, Eddie Edwards promptly injured in a match over the weekend when Sami Callihan accidentally hit him in the head with a baseball bat.

Eddie suffered heavy blood loss, a broken nose, and potentially a concussion.  No word on when the former three time world champion (ROH, Impact, NOAH) will return.

NXT Class of Talent

Four new talents reported to WWE’s Performance Center this week.  Those four talents were Ricochet, Candice LeRae, and War Machine (Raymond Rowe and Hanson).

Ricochet

If you’re not familiar with Ricochet, just know that this man is a high flyer on part with Neville, Gran Metalik and Kalisto.  He’s also got some great power moves for a cruiserweight.

One of the big worries about Ricochet is that he’ll be relegated to 205 Live.  I, personally, don’t think that’s a terrible thing as 205 Live needs any kind of boost it can get.  However, a run in NXT would lead to a higher level of success and exposure.

Candice

Candice LeRae is the master of the Ballsplex and Inverted Frankensteiner.  She’s one of the top women on the indies and she’s not afraid to mix it up with the guys, including her husband (whoever that is).  She’s the only woman to hold the PWG World Tag Titles and she had an impressive showing in the Mae Young Classic.

War Machine

Hanson and Rowe are awesome.  They’re definitely a throwback to the powerhouse tag teams from back in the day.  They also have a ton of speed and athleticism.

They’re going to fit right into WWE’s various tag divisions.  Matches with Authors of Pain, Bludgeon Brothers, and Sanity are some of the potential match-ups to look forward to.  They also have the heaviest song in the history of ROH.
